Sen. John R. Connor was sworn into his first term as senator for the 43rd District in January 2021. He previously served as state representative for the Illinois House’s 85th District.
He received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law. Sen. Connor was a career prosecutor of 20 years at the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, specializing in digital forensics and serving as Major Crimes Chief.
Sen. Connor was born and raised in Joliet but now resides in Lockport with his wife, three sons and dog Circe.
He currently serves as chair of the Criminal Law Committee as well as vice-chair of the Judiciary Committee. Sen. Connor also serves on the Financial Institutions, Healthcare Access and Availability, Human Rights, and Pensions Committees.
